Following graduation, Dr. Henderson joined Dr. Harold Davis & Associates in Oak Lawn, IL. He participated in FDA clinical contact lens research projects from 1980-1985. In 1985, Dr. Henderson acquired The Optometrists of the North Shore in Northbrook, IL. He took care of 9 nursing homes from 1985-1992, while allowing the Northbrook practice to grow.
He took special courses at the Illinois College of Optometry in diagnostic pharmaceuticals in 1988 and therapeutic pharmaceuticals in 1995. Dr. Henderson was active in legislative lobbying in Springfield for the Illinois Optometric Association. The successful legislation in 1988 & 1995 allows optometrists to use drugs to diagnose and treat ocular disease.
In 1999, Dr. Henderson opened The Optometrists of Lake Forest. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Illinois Optometric Association (IOA), and past president of the Chicago North Side Optometric Society. Dr. Henderson resides in Antioch and enjoys snow skiing, boating/water sports, vacations with his family, and fine food.
While attending ICO, he received the prestigious Lawrence P. Feigenbaum Optometry Memorial Award for receiving all honors during each clinical rotation.
Dr. Brody has trained at several specialized facilities, including the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI and the Vision America Center in St. Louis, MO. He became a full-time associate following graduation from ICO in 2000 and became a full partner in 2005.
Dr. Brody has been an integral part in the growth of The Optometrists of Lake Forest. As a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the AOA Political Action Committee, Dr. Brody is active within the optometric community. Dr. Brody resides in Buffalo Grove with his wife Karen and their children, Dylan and Alexa. During his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, fantasy sports, watching movies and traveling.
Dr. Tricia Danz
Dr. Danz grew up in the Chicago area, graduated from Lake Forest Academy in 1992 and then from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA in 1996. Dr. Danz earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2005.
While in optometry school, Dr. Danz attended clinical rotations in Chicago, IL and Winston-Salem, NC. She earned honors at these rotations.
Following graduation, Dr. Danz worked at The North Center Eye Care in Chicago for a couple of years. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA).
Dr. Danz resides in Lake Forest with her 3 children and enjoys running, biking, and spending time with her family.
She joined our practice as a full time associate in 2009.
Dr. Rahnuma Saiyed, FAAO
Dr. Saiyed grew up in the Chicago area, spending much of her childhood in the northern Chicago suburbs. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School prior to attending Loyola University Chicago where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2008.
Dr. Saiyed earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2012 at Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) where she also completed a post-graduate residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease. Thereafter, Dr. Saiyed transitioned into her role as a Clinical Faculty member at ICO where she continues to advise both students and optometry residents in Primary Care and Urgent Care clinics. Her previous experience also includes private practice and integrated optometry-ophthalmology referral centers.
Dr. Saiyed is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Her clinical interests include ocular disease management, co-management of surgical patients, routine and complex contact lens fitting, elder eye care, myopia control, and pediatric eye care. Dr. Saiyed is committed to providing the highest quality of care to each of her patients in order to ensure that they may achieve optimal ocular health and maximum visual potential.
Dr. Saiyed enjoys spending her personal time with family and friends, traveling, and catching up on her reading list.
